Primary Multiple Tuberculous Granuloma Produced in Ileocecal, Transversal and Descending Colon

Abstract

|
A primary tuberculous granuloma in multiple colon locations was recently seen by the author recent surgery. The patient was hospitalized two years ago for a chronic colitis. She later discharged herself from the hospital because of unrelieved symptoms. No tuberculous chest lesions have ever been found. Two years later, the patient was again hospitalized for a colon constriction seen by barium enema exmination. During an exploratory laparatomy, obstricting lesions involving most of the colon were found. An ileo-sigmoidal end to end anastomosis done. Histologic examination confirmed the diagnosis of a primary tuberculous granuloma of the colon. The postoperative course was uneventful.
